Hook's law states that the amount of deformation produced by a for is proportional to the amount of force.  If you put 1-pound weight on a spring cause the spring to stretch 0.75 in.  A 2-pound weight will cause a deformation of 1.5.  In equation form we can werite:

F = k • x

  • F - is the force applied
  • - is a constant (called the spring constant)
  • x - is the deformation

What is value of k?

Answer =

Correct Answer

(1) 1.33

Explanation

\(k = \frac{F}{x}\)

\(k = \frac{1}{0.75} = 1.33\)
