Creating an account

Free

Everyone signs up through the same registration page — you just pick which kind of account you need, and the form adjusts to ask for the right details.

  1. Go to the registration page

    Open go-math-science.com and choose Register.

  2. Choose your role

Teacher, Student, Parent, or Integrator — the form below changes to match (for example, Student shows a school and year-level field; Integrator asks for your domain or IP address instead).

  3. Fill in your details, complete the "I'm not a robot" check, and submit
  4. Verify your email

Enter the code sent to your email to activate your account.

Manager accounts aren't self-registered — they're set up separately by whoever administers your site. If you need Manager access, ask them directly rather than using this form.

Using free content & quizzes

Free

A lot of the site is browsable without an account at all — you don't need to register just to look around.

  1. Browse published quizzes and tool pages freely

Anything a teacher or the site itself has published is publicly viewable, whether or not you're signed in.

  2. Take a quiz as a guest, if the teacher's allowed it

Some quizzes can be shared for anyone to try without a full account — see Taking a Quiz Without an Account for the exact steps.

  3. Register when you're ready for more

An account gets you a saved history, class enrollment, and access to Plus/Premium features — see Creating an Account.

Using the tools library

Free

A free, public library of calculators, simulators, and reference tools — separate from the quizzes themselves, and open to anyone.

  1. Visit /tools
  2. Browse by topic

Tools are organized into subject folders — nothing to search for, just browse the category that fits what you need.

  3. Open any tool and use it directly in your browser

    No login required.

Teachers can also attach specific tools to a quiz, so students see them alongside the questions while taking it — that's a separate step covered in the Teacher section under quiz settings.

Pricing & subscription plans

Free

Every account — Teacher, Student, or Parent — has its own independent plan: Free, Plus, or Premium. Upgrading one account never affects another, even if they're linked (like a parent and their child).

  1. Free is the default for every new account

Enough to get started — join or create classes, take or build quizzes, with some limits on how many.

  2. Plus and Premium raise those limits and unlock extra features

Exactly what's included differs by role — see the plan comparison table in the Teacher section (Understanding Your Plan) for the fullest breakdown, since Teacher has the most tiered features.

  3. See current pricing and what each plan includes

On the pricing page, linked from your account menu.

How payments work

Free

Every payment on the site — a plan upgrade or a one-time donation — is handled by Stripe, a well-known, independent payment processor, not by GoMathScience directly.

  1. You're taken to a secure Stripe checkout page

Whenever you upgrade, switch plans, or donate.

  2. Your card details go straight to Stripe

GoMathScience never sees or stores your full card number — only Stripe does, which is exactly what a payment processor is designed for.

  3. You're returned to the site once payment completes

Your plan (or ad-free status) updates automatically — no need to tell anyone manually.

Getting an ad-free experience

Free

Two separate ways to remove ads while you're signed in.

  1. Subscribe to Plus or Premium

Ads are automatically removed as part of a paid plan — see Pricing & Subscription Plans.

  2. Or make a small one-time donation

Offered during registration — see Making a Donation for details. This removes ads without needing a full subscription.

Making a donation

Free

A small, one-time contribution that helps support the site's educational content — and removes ads for your account as a thank-you.

  1. Look for the donation offer while registering

Shown as part of the sign-up flow, currently a one-time $1 AUD contribution.

  2. Click Donate Now

Takes you to a secure Stripe checkout page — see How Payments Work.

  3. Ads are removed once payment completes

No separate step needed — this happens automatically.

This offer currently appears during registration. If you've already registered and would like to remove ads, upgrading to Plus or Premium achieves the same result — see Getting an Ad-Free Experience.

Creating your Teacher account

Free

You need an account to build classes, assignments, and quizzes.

  1. Go to the registration page

    Open go-math-science.com and choose Register.

  2. Choose "Teacher" as your role
  3. Fill in your details

Name, email address, and a password. Your password needs at least 8 characters, including an uppercase letter, a number, and a symbol.

  4. Complete the "I'm not a robot" check
  5. Submit and check your email

You'll receive a verification code by email. Enter it when prompted to activate your account.

Understanding your plan

Free

Every account starts on the Free plan. Plus and Premium unlock more room and more features. Exact numbers are set by your site's Manager, but typically:

Creating a class

Free
  1. Go to Your Classes

From your Teacher home page, choose Classes.

  2. Click Add New Class
  3. Fill in the class details

Topic, year level, a maximum number of students (capacity), and a start date if you have one — students see this in the directory.

  4. Decide how students join

Open lets a student in immediately when they request; Approval required holds their request for you to approve or decline first.

  5. Choose whether to list it in the public directory

Ticking List in Public Directory lets students find and request your class by browsing — see Finding and Joining a Class. Leave it unticked to keep the class joinable only by code — even a student who somehow gets the class's internal ID cannot join an unlisted class any other way.

  6. Save

Your class is created with a unique joining code shown on the class page — this still works as a direct, private way to invite students, whether or not the class is also listed in the directory.

  7. Share the joining code with your students, if you're using it

Students enter this exact code to join instantly, regardless of your Open/Approval setting.

You can't delete a class while it still has assignments pointing at it or students actively enrolled or awaiting approval — reassign or remove those first.

Reviewing join requests

Free

If any of your classes require approval to join, requests land here for you to accept or decline — this only applies to classes you set to Approval required.

  1. Go to your Teacher Hub and open Join Requests

A red badge shows how many are waiting on you.

  2. Review each request

Shows the student, which class, and when they asked.

  3. Click Approve

The student is enrolled immediately — or, for a paid class, given 24 hours to pay once payments are available.

  4. Or click Decline and give a reason

A reason is required — the student will see exactly what you type, so make it clear and specific (e.g. "This class is for Year 9 and above."). Declining frees up the spot right away.

  5. A Notification Email

A notification email is sent to the teacher once the student is enrolled in the class.

A pending request already counts toward your class capacity, even before you approve it — this is deliberate, so you can't accidentally approve more students than you have room for. Declining a request immediately gives that spot back.

Managing students in your class

Free
  1. Open your class

Go to Classes and select the class.

  2. View your roster

Every student who has joined with your class code appears here, with their status.

  3. Deactivate a student

If a student should no longer have access, switch their status to Inactive — this doesn't delete their history, just removes them from the active roster.

  4. Reactivate a student

Switch them back to Active any time — as long as your class still has room.

Creating assignments

Free

An assignment links one or more quizzes to a class with a due date.

  1. Go to Assignments
  2. Click Add New Assignment
  3. Choose the class and the quiz (or quizzes)
  4. Set a due date and instructions
  5. Save

The assignment now appears for every active student in that class — see Finding Your Assignments.

Building a quiz

Free

This is the main quiz-building screen — everything about a quiz's content and settings happens here.

  1. Start a new quiz

From a Quiz Folder, click Add New Quiz.

  2. Give it a title and click Create

This saves an empty quiz and switches the page into edit mode.

  3. Add your first question

Click Add Question. A new question card appears, collapsed.

  4. Choose a question type

Use the type dropdown at the top of the question — types are grouped by category (Choice-Based, Math & Science, Ordering & Matching, Text & Recall, Visual & Interactive). See Choosing Question Types for what each one does.

  5. Fill in the answer options

Use the friendly Builder view (checkboxes, drag targets, etc. — whatever fits the type) to enter your answers. Every type also has a Raw view if you ever need to edit the plain text directly — a toggle switches between the two without losing your work.

  6. Write the question text

Use the rich text box for the question itself — you can format text, insert images, equations, diagrams, and more (see the addon's editor tools).

  7. Set points, and optionally an explanation and reference
  8. Save the question

Click the small save icon on that question's toolbar to save just this one question — handy for a quick edit without re-saving the whole quiz.

  9. Repeat for each question

Use the + control between questions to insert a new one at that position, the up/down arrows or drag handle to reorder, and the duplicate icon to clone a question.

  10. Save the whole quiz

Click Save at any time to save every change at once.

If Save fails because you've reached your plan's question or class limit, a pop-up explains exactly which limit you hit and offers to upgrade — see Managing Your Subscription.

Choosing question types

Free +

17 question types are available. Which ones you can use depends on your plan.

TypeGood forPlan needed
One Answer Learner selects exactly one correct option from a list. Free
Multiple Answers Learner selects all options that are correct. Free
Missing Word Learner types the missing word or phrase into a blank. Free
Number Range Learner enters a numeric answer, accepted if within a configured tolerance of the correct value (e.g. 9.81 ± 0.05). Plus
Classification Learner drags each item from a pool into the category it belongs to; correct only when every item is placed in its correct category. Premium
Raining Use this question type to test the ability of the learner categorizing different answer options into categories with additional coloring and animation flavors. Premium
Image Tagging Learner drags labels onto positions marked on an image (or types an answer directly into a position); correct only when every position's label matches. Premium
Formula Learner enters a mathematical expression, graded by symbolic equivalence rather than exact text match. Plus
Drag/Drop inplace Learner drags options into numbered positions embedded directly in the question text, or types an answer into each position directly. Plus
Identify Words Learner clicks or taps individual words within the question text to select them. Premium
Sort Learner drags items to put them in the correct order. Plus
Match Learner draws lines connecting matching items between two columns. Plus
Hangman Learner guesses a hidden word one letter at a time, with a limited number of wrong guesses allowed. Premium
Image slider puzzle Learner solves a 3x3 sliding image puzzle for engagement, then types a text answer, which is what's actually graded. Premium
Cannon Learner aims a cannon and fires at the correct option(s) among several targets. Free
Guess Word Game-style word-guess: learner uses letter-by-letter feedback to find the secret word within a fixed number of trials. Plus
Plugin Drag puzzle pieces from a pool into matching sockets. JSON answer storage avoids comma-in-text issues. Plus

For Sort, Match, Classification, Raining, and Drag/Drop Inplace, the text you type for each item or option now supports basic formatting (bold, italic, underline) and math equations, not just plain text.

Guess Word and Plugin can be added by hand right now, but Generate with AI and Upload Questions from a File don't support them yet — use the regular question builder for these two types for now.

A type not available on your current plan is greyed out in the picker with an upgrade prompt — your Manager can also change which plan each type requires.

Choosing a theme, mode & style

Free

Click the gear icon (Quiz Settings) at the top of the quiz builder to open everything about the quiz as a whole.

  1. Pick a Theme

Changes the whole look of the quiz — colors, fonts, and decoration. Themes are grouped for adults (Academia, Emerald, Executive, Midnight, Minimal) and for younger students (Balloons, Candy, Jungle, Space), each with its own personality.

  2. Add Labels

Tag the quiz by subject so it's easy to find later.

  3. Choose enabled Tools and Additional Tools

Attach calculators, reference sheets, or other published tool pages the student can open while taking the quiz.

  4. Set Quiz Mode

Exam hides feedback until the end; Practice reveals each answer as the student goes; Both lets the student choose.

  5. Set Quiz Style

Step-by-step shows one question at a time; List shows them all at once; Both lets the student choose.

  6. Turn on Randomize Questions, if you want

Shuffles question order for each student.

  7. Close the panel and Save the quiz

Settings are only kept once you save the whole quiz — see Building a Quiz.

This same walkthrough, with every Quiz Settings option laid out side by side, is also available from inside the quiz builder itself — click Help and look for Quiz Settings in the sidebar.

Turning on the Gamified Experience

Plus

Gamified Experience adds an on-screen score, a streak counter, sound, and celebration as students answer — and optionally, a full mini-game.

  1. Open Quiz Settings and turn on Gamified Experience
  2. Decide whether to add a Game

Leave the Game field set to None for just the score/streak experience, or pick Race or Chase for a full animated mini-game — details in the Student guide, Playing a Game Quiz.

  3. Configure the game

Once a game is chosen, a matching options form appears — for Race, that's the racer's Avatar, the track Background, Animation Speed, Number of Competitors, and whether wrong answers cause the student to slip back (Regression).

  4. Read the limitations note

The settings panel shows exactly what changes once a game is active — worth reading before you turn it on:

    • The quiz is forced into Step-by-step and Practice mode
    • The tools toolbar and the ordinary Submit button are hidden
    • Notes and Flag are hidden on each question
    • For single/multi-choice questions, picking an answer grades it immediately and moves on — no answer or explanation is shown
    • The quiz submits automatically after the last question
  5. Save the quiz

Note that you can enrich the gaming experience by adding emojis to your rich text and then add sound to emojis which the student can hear once the emoji is clicked.

Importing questions from the Question Bank

Plus

Reuse questions already published elsewhere on the site instead of writing your own from scratch.

  1. Click Find Question

    In the quiz builder toolbar.

  2. Search

By keyword, subject, or year level.

  3. Select the questions you want and click Import

An imported question is read-only in your quiz — you can use it, but not edit its content, since it belongs to the shared bank rather than to you. A small lock icon marks it in the question list.

Generating questions with AI

Premium

Let AI write a full set of questions for you — optionally based on your own source material — instead of typing every question by hand.

  1. Click Generate with AI

In the quiz builder toolbar. Make sure your quiz already has a title — it's used to guide what the AI writes.

  2. Optionally attach a source document

Upload a PDF, HTML, Markdown, or plain text file to base the questions on. (Word and PowerPoint files aren't supported as a source yet.)

  3. Choose how many questions and how many points each

The number you can request is capped by your plan's questions-per-quiz limit.

  4. Set a year level and difficulty, if you'd like

Helps the AI target the right audience — both are optional.

  5. Choose which question types the AI can use

Leave every box checked to let the AI pick whatever fits best, or narrow it down to specific types. Only types your plan allows are offered.

  6. Add any extra instructions

Free text — for example, "focus on fractions" or "keep the wording simple."

  7. Click Generate

This can take a little while — the AI is writing your questions.

  8. Review what comes back

The generated questions are added straight into your quiz builder, exactly like questions you typed yourself — nothing is saved until you review them and click Save. Check them over, edit anything that needs adjusting, and remove any you don't want to keep.

Always read through AI-generated questions before publishing — treat them as a fast first draft, not a finished quiz.

The same steps are also covered from inside the quiz builder — click Help and look for Generate with AI under How to Manage Quiz in the sidebar.

Uploading questions from a file

Premium
  1. Click Upload Questions

    In the quiz builder toolbar.

  2. Choose your file and upload
  3. Review the imported questions

They're added to your quiz — check them over and adjust as needed before saving.

Publishing your quiz

Free

A quiz stays private — invisible to students — until you explicitly publish it.

  1. Finish building and saving your quiz
  2. Click Publish

In the quiz builder toolbar. The quiz (and every question in it, unless individually locked/imported) becomes visible to enrolled students.

  3. Retract if you need to make it private again

Click Retract any time — this instantly hides it from students again without deleting anything.

Viewing class results

Plus
  1. Open your class
  2. Click Class Results
  3. Choose a quiz

See every enrolled student's attempts and scores for that quiz, side by side.

Exporting a quiz or worksheet as PDF

Premium
  1. Open the quiz
  2. Click Export as PDF
  3. Choose Worksheet or Answer Key

A worksheet includes just the questions, ready to print; an answer key includes the correct answers too.

  4. Download

Managing your subscription

Free
  1. Go to My Subscription

    From your account menu.

  2. Upgrade

Choose Plus or Premium and click Upgrade. You'll be taken to a secure Stripe checkout page — your card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never seen by GoMathScience. An upgrade applies immediately, with the extra amount charged right away.

  3. Switch tiers

Use Switch Plan to preview exactly what a change will cost before confirming it.

  4. Downgrade or cancel

Takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then, with no refund for the remaining time. You can reverse a scheduled downgrade or cancellation any time before it takes effect.

Billing happens monthly from the date you first subscribed. You'll get an email reminder before renewal, and another if a payment ever fails.

Connecting Stripe to get paid

Free

If you want to charge a fee for one of your classes, you'll need to connect a Stripe account first — this is a completely separate thing from your own GoMathScience subscription above. Fees students pay go straight to you, not to GoMathScience.

  1. Go to your Teacher Hub and open the Payments tab
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account
  3. Complete Stripe's own setup steps

Identity verification and bank details — Stripe collects and stores these directly; GoMathScience never sees them.

  4. Check your status badge back in the Payments tab

Not started, In progress, Action needed, or Active. You can only charge fees on a class once your account shows Active.

  5. Watch for the requirements banner

If Stripe needs something further from you (a document, a business detail), it's explained here in plain language — act on it promptly, since it can affect whether you keep getting paid.

It's normal for your account to take a little time to fully activate after you finish Stripe's setup steps — Stripe verifies accounts in the background, sometimes for a while after everything looks complete. If something still seems wrong after a day or two, check the requirements banner first.

Viewing payments & your Stripe dashboard

Free

Once your account is active, every fee a student has paid for your classes shows up right in your Teacher Hub — and refunds are handled through Stripe directly, not through GoMathScience.

  1. Go to your Teacher Hub and open the Payments tab
  2. Review Payments Received

Which class, which student, how much, and its status — Paid, Awaiting Payment, Partially Refunded, or Fully Refunded.

  3. Click Open Stripe Dashboard for full detail or to issue a refund

Opens your own Stripe Express Dashboard in a new tab — this is where you actually process a refund or look into a dispute, not inside GoMathScience.

  4. Enter the one-time code Stripe sends you

The first time you open your dashboard in a new browser session, Stripe texts or emails a short verification code — this is standard Stripe account security, not something specific to GoMathScience.

  5. Issue a refund from within Stripe, if needed

Your Payments tab back in GoMathScience updates automatically once the refund is processed — there's nothing further to do on the GoMathScience side.

Refunding a student's payment does not automatically remove them from your class — that's still a separate decision you make yourself in your class roster, exactly as it always has been.

Joining GoMathScience

Free
  1. Go to the registration page

    Open go-math-science.com and choose Register.

  2. Choose "Student" as your role

If a parent already registered you, you may not need to do this — ask them first.

  3. Fill in your details and submit
  4. Verify your email

Enter the code sent to your email to activate your account.

Finding and joining a class

Free

There are two ways to join a class: browse a public directory and request to join, or enter a joining code your teacher gave you directly.

Browse and request to join

  1. Go to Classes and click Browse Classes

    From your Student home page.

  2. Search or filter

By teacher name, topic, year level, or whether the class is free or paid.

  3. Check the badge on a class

Instant join enrolls you right away; Approval required sends your request to the teacher first.

  4. Click Join

If approval is required, your request shows as Awaiting approval under My Requests until the teacher responds — see Tracking Your Join Requests.

  5. A Confirmation Email

A confirmation email is sent to the student and the parent once the student is enrolled in the class.

Use a joining code

  1. Get the joining code from your teacher
  2. Go to Join a Class and enter the code exactly as given
  3. Submit

The class now appears on your home page right away.

If a class is full, you'll see a message saying so — a class can show as full even before anyone's officially enrolled, if enough other students are already waiting on the teacher's approval. Ask your teacher to make room, or check for a typo if you're using a code.

Paying for a class

Free

Some classes charge a fee. If you join one, you'll be sent to a secure Stripe checkout page to pay — the fee goes directly to your teacher, not to GoMathScience.

  1. Join or get approved for a paid class as normal

Same steps as any other class — see Finding and Joining a Class.

  2. You're redirected to Stripe's checkout page

Enter your payment details there — GoMathScience never sees or stores your card details.

  3. Your spot is held for 24 hours while you pay

Shown under My Requests with a blue Payment required badge until payment is confirmed.

  4. You're enrolled once payment is confirmed

This can take a moment even after you finish paying — the class only activates once payment is fully confirmed, not the instant you're sent back to the site.

Try to complete payment within the 24-hour window shown — if you're not going to pay, letting your teacher know is the most reliable way to free up the spot for someone else.

Tracking your join requests

Free

Any class you've requested to join but aren't enrolled in yet — whether it needs approval or payment — shows up here.

  1. Go to Classes and look under My Requests

Only appears if you have at least one request that isn't fully active yet — an already-enrolled class won't show here, only in your regular class list.

  2. Check the badge

Amber Awaiting approval means the teacher hasn't responded yet. Red Declined shows the teacher's reason — you can request the same class again afterward if you'd like. Blue Payment required means the class needs a fee; payment isn't available yet, so your place is simply held for a short time.

Finding your assignments

Free
  1. Go to your Student home page
  2. Open Assignments

Every assignment from every class you've joined is listed, with its due date.

  3. Click an assignment to see its quiz (or quizzes)

Taking a quiz

Free
  1. Open the quiz and click Start
  2. Choose a mode, if you're offered one

Exam mode hides feedback until you finish; Practice mode shows you right away whether each answer was correct.

  3. Choose a style, if you're offered one

Step-by-step shows one question at a time with Next/Previous; List shows every question on one page.

  4. Answer each question

Then click Check Answer (Practice mode) to see if you're right, or move on and let it grade at the end (Exam mode).

  5. Use Show Answer if you get stuck

Where your teacher has allowed it — reveals the correct answer without grading your attempt.

  6. Submit when you reach the end

Your final score and, if enabled, an explanation for each question, are shown.

  7. Download Certificate

Download your certificate if you passed.

If the quiz has a timer, keep an eye on it in the top bar — running out of time submits the quiz automatically with whatever you've answered so far.

Read-aloud, text size & high contrast

Free

Every quiz page has built-in tools to have content read aloud, make text bigger, or switch to a higher-contrast color scheme — no separate app or extension needed.

🔊 Read aloud

  1. Look for the speaker icon

Next to each question's title, inside the Correct Answer panel once it's revealed, and once at the top of the whole quiz to read its title and instructions.

  2. Click once to start reading

The icon changes to show it's speaking.

  3. Click again to pause, click again to resume
  4. Double-click to stop completely

Starting a different speaker button automatically stops whichever one was already playing — only one reads at a time. Math equations are read as plain language, not as raw formula code, and lists are read item by item rather than run together.

🔍 Text size & contrast

  1. Find the floating toolbar

Appears on every page where you take or review a quiz.

  2. Adjust text size

From 80% up to 160% of normal size.

  3. Toggle High Contrast

Switches to a higher-contrast color scheme for easier reading.

These settings reset each time you load a new page — they aren't saved between visits.

Read-aloud never gives away the correct answer while you're still working on a question — it only reads what you can already see on screen. Once you check or reveal an answer, the speaker will also read the correct answer and any explanation.

The text-size control works fully in most browsers, but not in Firefox — it still works there, just with a slightly different zoom behavior. Your browser's own zoom (Ctrl/Cmd and +) works everywhere as an alternative.

The Gamified Experience

Plus

If your teacher has turned this on, you'll see extra things happen as you answer, whether or not the quiz also has a full game attached.

What you seeWhat it means
Score chip (e.g. 4 / 10 ✅)Your running score so far in this attempt.
Streak badge (🔥 3 in a row!)Appears once you've answered 2 or more correctly in a row — keeps going as long as your streak lasts.
Progress bar with confettiFills as you answer more questions — bursts with confetti at the halfway point and at the end.
Floating +pointsA quick animation showing points earned for a correct answer.
Sound effectsA short tone plays for correct and incorrect answers.
  1. Mute sound if you'd rather not hear it

Click the speaker icon next to the score chip — this preference is remembered on this device.

Playing a Game quiz: Race & Chase

Plus

Some quizzes replace the usual Check Answer screen with a full animated game. Answering correctly moves you forward — nothing about the correct answer is shown, so there's no "try again."

🏇 Race

You control an avatar racing toward a finish line against a set number of computer-controlled racers, who move on their own the whole time.

  • Answer correctly to move forward — answer quickly for an extra speed boost.
  • If your teacher enabled it, a wrong answer can knock you back slightly.
  • The quiz ends the moment any racer (you or a competitor) reaches the finish line — or when you finish every question, whichever comes first.

🦊 Chase

You control the prey, fleeing from a predator that steadily creeps closer the whole time, even between questions.

  • A correct answer widens your lead.
  • If your teacher enabled it, a wrong answer lets the predator gain ground.
  • Getting caught ends the quiz immediately — so keep the pace up!
  1. Click Start

A 3-2-1 countdown plays before the game begins, and the screen switches to fullscreen automatically.

  2. Answer each question as it appears

You'll always be shown one question at a time — this can't be changed to a list while a game is active.

  3. Watch your competitor react

There's no answer reveal — instead you'll see a quick green flash (correct) or red flash (incorrect) on the question, and your racer/prey reacts immediately.

  4. Use the fullscreen button to exit if needed

It appears in the corner of the game screen — the usual toolbar isn't available while a game is running.

Viewing your history

Free
  1. Go to My History

    From your Student home page.

  2. Choose Quiz History or Practice History

Quiz History covers graded attempts tied to assignments; Practice History covers ungraded practice runs.

  3. Click 🔍 Review on a row, if it has one

Opens a full page showing exactly how you answered that attempt, question by question, with your answer next to the correct one and any explanation your teacher added. Only attempts taken since this feature was added show a Review button — older attempts show a dash instead.

The review always shows the quiz exactly as it was when you took it — even if your teacher edits the question, its points, or the correct answer afterward, your review still reflects what you actually saw and answered at the time.

Find the certificate icon next to the quiz you passed and click to download.

Taking a quiz without an account

Free

Some quizzes can be shared for anyone to try, no account required.

  1. Open the shared link
  2. Enter the pass code, if one was given to you
  3. Enter your email and complete the "I'm not a robot" check

    You'll receive a confirmation email — this doesn't create a full account.

  4. Take the quiz as normal

Creating your Parent account

    Open go-math-science.com and choose Register.

  2. Choose "Parent" as your role
  3. Fill in your details and submit
  4. Verify your email

Viewing your child's classes

Free
  1. Go to My Children
  2. Select a child
  3. Open Classes

See every class that child is enrolled in.

Enrolling your child in a class

Free

Just like a student joining directly, you can either browse a public directory of classes or use a joining code the teacher gave you.

Browse and request to join

  1. Go to My Children and select the child
  2. Choose Browse Classes
  3. Find a class and click Join

If the class requires approval, the request goes to the teacher first — you'll see it as pending until they respond.

  4. Awaiting Payment

You can complete the payment step for a pid class that you enrolled a child but did not complete the payment by clicking on Awaiting Payment.

Use a joining code

  1. Get the joining code from the teacher
  2. Go to My Children and select the child
  3. Choose Join a Class and enter the code
  4. Submit

If the class charges a fee, you'll be sent to a secure Stripe checkout page to pay on your child's behalf — the payment goes directly to the teacher, not to GoMathScience. See Paying for a Class for what to expect.

Viewing progress reports

Free

The Progress Reports tab in your Parent Hub shows a child's quiz performance over time — a chart, a summary, and a table of recent attempts — either on screen or as a downloadable PDF.

  1. Go to your Parent Hub and open the Progress Reports tab
  2. Choose a child

Only children linked and approved to your account appear here.

  3. Choose a date range and granularity

Defaults to the current Monday–Friday. Switch between daily, weekly, or monthly grouping.

  4. Click View Report

Shows a chart (blue = average score, yellow = how far that average is from the pass mark), a summary of sessions and anomalies, and a table of recent attempts. A session well below or above the recent trend is flagged as an anomaly and colored red (drop) or amber (spike) — this needs at least 3 recent sessions to kick in, so it won't flag anything for a child who's only just started.

  5. Click Download PDF instead, if you'd like a copy to keep or share

Same report, branded and ready to print or attach to an email.

You can also jump straight here for a specific child: on the My Children tab, click View Report next to that child's name — it opens Progress Reports already filtered to them, for the current week.

Viewing your child's quiz history

Free

A full, detailed history of every quiz your child has taken, with the option to review exactly how they answered any individual attempt.

  1. Go to your Parent Hub and open the Quiz History tab
  2. Select a child

Only children linked and approved to your account appear here.

  3. Click View History

Loads a table with one row per quiz attempt: date, quiz name, score, points scored, total possible points, pass threshold, and pass/fail result.

  4. Click Review on a row, if it has one

Opens a full page showing exactly how your child answered that attempt, question by question, with their answer next to the correct one and any explanation their teacher added. Only attempts taken since this feature was added show a Review button — older attempts show a dash instead.

A reviewed attempt always shows the quiz exactly as it was when your child took it — even if the teacher later edits the question, its points, or the correct answer, the review still reflects what your child actually saw and answered at the time.

Scheduling automatic email reports

Premium

Instead of checking in yourself, have a progress report emailed to you automatically on a schedule.

  1. Open the Progress Reports tab

    In your Parent Hub.

  2. Click 📧 Scheduled Reports

    Top-right of the panel.

  3. Turn scheduling on
  4. Choose weekly or monthly

Weekly reports arrive every Monday, covering the previous Monday–Friday. Monthly reports arrive on the 1st, covering the previous calendar month.

  5. Enter the email address to send to
  6. Choose which children to include

Leave every box unchecked to include all your linked children in one report.

  7. Save

If a child had no quiz activity at all in a given period, that period's report is simply skipped for them — you won't get an empty report.

Managing your subscription

Free
  1. Go to My Subscription
  2. Upgrade, switch, downgrade, or cancel

Works exactly the same way as a Teacher's subscription — see Managing Your Subscription for the full billing details (checkout, timing, and refund policy).

What is an Integrator account?

Free +

An Integrator account is for an outside system (a school's own portal, a mobile app, a reporting tool) that connects to GoMathScience's data automatically instead of through a person clicking around the website. If you're a developer connecting a system to GoMathScience, this section is for you.

Registering as an Integrator

Free
  1. Go to the registration page

    Open go-math-science.com and choose Register.

  2. Choose "Integrator" as your role
  3. Fill in your details

Along with your name and email, provide the domain(s) and/or IP address(es) your system will connect from — this is how the site recognizes your requests as legitimate later.

  4. Submit and verify your email

Registering creates your account, but your access isn't active yet — see Getting Activated.

Getting activated

Free

A Manager on the site needs to finish setting up your account before your requests will work.

  1. Contact the site's Manager after registering

Let them know you've signed up as an Integrator so they can complete activation on their end — see the Manager's activation steps.

  2. Wait for confirmation

Until this is done, every request you make will be refused.

  3. Test a simple request once notified

Confirm you're getting a normal response before building anything further on top of it.

Authenticating your requests

Free

Every request your system makes needs to identify itself as coming from your registered account, using one of three methods your Manager sets up for you.

MethodHow it works
By web address (referer)Your requests come from a page served on one of the domains you registered.
By IP addressYour requests come from one of the specific IP addresses you registered.
By client tokenA shared secret code included with each request. This method is not currently available — use one of the two above instead.
  1. Include your account name on every request

Along with which of the two working methods above you're using.

  2. Match the method you registered with

If you registered by domain, requests must actually come from that domain; if by IP, from that IP.

For the exact technical parameters and request format, see the full reference in Finding the Full API Reference — this page keeps things at a plain-language level.

Understanding your usage quota

Free

Your account can make a limited number of requests per calendar month, based on your plan (or a custom limit your Manager may have set specifically for you).

  1. Know your limit

Ask your Manager, or check your usage dashboard.

  2. Watch for the "limit reached" response

Once you hit your monthly quota, further requests are refused until the count resets at the start of the next month.

  3. Ask about a higher limit if you're consistently near it

Your Manager can raise your specific quota, or mark your account unlimited.

Checking your usage

Free
  1. Sign in with your Integrator account
  2. Go to My Usage

See how many requests you've made this month against your quota.

Finding the full API reference

Free

For the complete, technical list of everything your system can request — exact addresses, parameters, and response formats.

  1. Go to /rest-api

    On the site.

  2. Browse by category

Endpoints are grouped by topic (Quiz Management, Question Bank, Subscriptions & Billing, and more) — each has its own page describing exactly what it does and how to call it.

This page is regenerated by the site's Manager whenever the site's capabilities change, so it should always reflect what's actually available right now.
