Light microscope — best resolution color

Explanation

Illuminating specimens with blue light under the light microscope was found to give considerably greater resolution than any other color. This is because blue light has a shorter wavelength than red or yellow light — shorter wavelengths produce finer resolution. This discovery eventually led researchers to experiment with even shorter wavelengths, ultimately leading to the invention of the electron microscope.
