Internet of Things Overview

The Internet of Things (IoT) encapsulates a vision of a world in which 1($) of objects with embedded 2($), communication means, and sensing and actuation capabilities will connect over 3($) (Internet Protocol) network

The Internet has undergone a fundamental transition, from hardware-driven (example 1($)) to market-driven (example 2($))

The stored Big Data can then be processed with new mechanisms, such as machine and deep learning, transforming 1($) generated by connected objects into 2($). The 3($) will then be disseminated to relevant devices and interested users or stored for further processing and access.

The typical network deployment would consist of the sources placed around the areas to be monitored and the sinks located in easily accessible places.  The sinks provided adequate storage capacity to hold the data from the sources.

A wireless sensor network (WSN) is a network composed of a large number of small, low-power devices called 1($) that communicate 2($) to collect and transmit data from the physical environment. These 3($) can be equipped with various types of sensors such as temperature, humidity, light, motion, pressure, and more, allowing them to monitor and measure different environmental conditions.
