Agile Methods in Software Evolution

Agile Methods for Program Evolution

1 pts

Why should the transition from agile development to post-delivery evolution be relatively seamless?

Because agile teams are legally required to disband after delivery

Because agile methods forbid any changes after the first release

Because agile methods always use exactly the same staff for the entire lifetime of a product

Because agile methods are based on incremental development, which naturally extends into ongoing evolution

Handover Problem - Agile Development to Plan-Based Evolution

1 pts

volume_mute

What problem can occur when a development team has used an agile approach, but the team responsible for evolution prefers a plan-based approach?

The evolution team may expect detailed documentation that was rarely produced during agile development, and there may be no definitive requirements statement to modify

Plan-based teams cannot legally take over software built using agile methods

The evolution team will automatically inherit all the same skills as the original agile developers

The system will stop functioning immediately upon handover

What problem can occur when a plan-based approach was used for development, but the evolution team prefers to use agile methods?

The evolution team may have to start from scratch developing automated tests, and the code may need reengineering before agile development can proceed effectively

Plan-based code can never be modified by any other team under any circumstances

Agile evolution teams refuse to work on any software not originally written in an agile manner

The system automatically becomes incompatible with all modern hardware

Modifications Needed for Agile Evolution

1 pts

volume_mute

When agile methods originally used for development are applied to program maintenance and evolution, what modifications may be necessary? Select all that apply.

Agile evolution requires that the original development team be legally dissolved

All testing activities must be permanently removed from the process

It may be impractical to involve users in the development team since change proposals come from a wide range of stakeholders

Short development cycles may have to be interrupted to deal with emergency repairs

The gap between releases may have to be lengthened to avoid disrupting operational processes

Scrum Backlog in Evolution Context

1 pts

volume_mute

How does the Scrum approach of maintaining a backlog help during software evolution?

It replaces the need for impact analysis entirely

It helps prioritize the most important system changes that need to be made

It eliminates the need for any release planning whatsoever

It guarantees that all changes will be implemented within a single sprint
