Objects on the moon weigh less than they do on the earth

Explanation

Objects on the moon weigh less than they do on earth.  If we drop an object on the moon, the force of gravity on it will be less, and according to Newton's second law it will have less acceleration.  In fact, the acceleration of gravity on the moon is only about 1/6 of the acceleration of gravity on earth.
